2000 Keyboard - "Music Supervision"
|
|
My March and April Keyboard columns are on music supervision, which is the placement of songs in movies and television. It's a fascinating field that is both creative and very, very political. Soundtracks are major money sources, so they are taken very seriously. For the column, I interviewed Chris Douridas, an independant music supervisor and A&R executive for Dreamworks. I first met Chris when he was hosting an influential radio program here in Los Angeles called "Morning Becomes Eclectic" on NPR station KCRW. Below is a list of some of Chris's cool film credits. Most of the CDs are available and worth checking out. Click on them if you are interested in ordering from Amazon. |
